More dusty corners

I am continuing to go through dusty bins and corners in preparation for the grand garage sale with my friend Mary (who instigated this foolish effort). In my daughter's closet I find (mostly to keep, not to sell):

...some of my daughters warm shirts. If they fit me, they're mine!

...a cheap polaroid camera

...an odd journal which, in the front, has some of my daughter's musings, and in the back has recipes I have cut out and pasted. We each started the blank journal from the opposite side. I tear out the recipes and put the journal on the "to be sorted the next time the child is home" shelf.

...a caricature of daughter and friends Cal, Destiny, and someone else at Pig Out in the Park. I must have this framed.

...a baseball bat

...a long black velvet dress that has never fit any of us

...the ribbon doll and hand-made barrettes. This is a stuffed doll face with long yarn braids that I made to serve as a barrette holder. Placed in heirloom pile.

...money from exotic countries

...an Afghan revolutionary flag (what does one do with this?)

...a small tapestry suitcase with a luggage tag that still had my mother's name and address. It made me cry. Does a person ever stop missing their mother? So it is said "May her memory be a blessing".

...artsy beads I bought a long time ago to make a necklace, but now I can't remember what the necklace was supposed to look like
